Shillong, Jun 8: Meghalaya in the last 24-hours recorded nine Covid-19 deaths taking the total number of fatalities to 678.
Of the nine Covid-19 deaths East Khasi Hills recorded six, West Khasi Hills two and West Jaintia Hills one.
Meanwhile, Tuesday again saw more new recovered cases than fresh infections.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War informed that the state recorded 773 new recoveries and 379 new infections.
With the latest figures, the state now has 4924 active cases and a total of 33933 have so far recovered from the virus.
The district-wise distribution of the 379 new cases – East Khasi Hills recorded 149, West Garo Hills 52, West Jaintia Hills 40, North Garo Hills 36, South West Garo Hills 24, South West Khasi Hills 23, East Garo Hills 15, West Khasi Hills 14, East Jaintia Hills 10, Ri-Bhoi nine and South Garo Hills seven.
The district wise active cases are – East Khasi Hills 1995, West Jaintia Hills 647, West Garo Hills 618, Ri-Bhoi 457, South West Garo Hills 308, South West Khasi Hills 243, North Garo Hills 171, East Jaintia Hills 156, West Khasi Hills 135, East Garo Hills 102 and South Garo Hills 92.
Of the total Covid-19 deaths, East Khasi Hills recorded 534, West Jaintia Hills 52, West Garo Hills 32, Ri-Bhoi 18, East Jaintia Hills 11, West Khasi Hills ten, South West Garo Hills seven, North Garo Hills five, South Garo Hills four, South West Khasi Hills three and East Garo Hills two.
