Shillong, May 5: The State on Wednesday recorded six more COVID-19 deaths taking the total number of fatalities to 191 even as 269 fresh cases were detected and 147 recoveries were recorded taking the total number of such cases to 15957.
Director of Health Service (MI), Dr. Aman War informed that the six fatalities were identified as – Kresenia Mawrie 65-year ole female of Laitkor Rngi, East Khasi Hills district, Rev. Krickwin Ch. Marak 70 year old male of Goanang, Tura, West Garo Hills, Monmaya Sangma 75-year old female of Chehruphi, Khliehriat, East Jaintia Hills, Tesmen Salahe 36-year old female from Samasi, East Jaintia Hills, Ashutosh Kumar Singh 36-year old male of Mission Compound Jowai and Synshar Jyrwa 35-year old male of Pynthorbah, East Khasi Hills.
Of the new cases, East Khasi Hills recorded 198, West Garo Hills 18, West Khasi Hills 13, East Jaintia Hills 11, South Garo Hills eight, West Jaintia Hills seven, Ri-Bhoi and South West Garo Hills five each, East Garo Hills three and North Garo Hills one.
Of the 2135 active cases East Khasi Hills has 1377, Ri-Bhoi 198, West Garo Hills 160, West Jaintia Hills 101, East Jaintia Hills 94, West Khasi Hills 80, East Garo Hills 30, South Garo Hills 27, South West Garo Hills 26, South West Khasi Hills 23 and North Garo Hills 19.
The total number of persons tested till date is 4,74,680 out of which 4,56,397 were negative and 18283 are confirmed cases.
Dr. War also informed that till date a total of 2,01,852 persons have been vaccinated.
