Shillong, May 7: Meghalaya recorded six fatalities on Friday taking the tally to 199.
The six deaths recorded were of Anil Mandal (39) of Margherita Assam. The deceased who was admitted to NEIGRIHMS on April 26, expired on May 6 at 1:40 pm, Meniories Kongwang (55) of Umsyiem, Pongtung East Khasi Hills was admitted to Civil Hospital Shillong on May 4 and expired on May 6 at 8 pm, Jenny Marki Dkhar (85) of Umpling, East Khasi Hills was brought dead on May 6 to Bethany Hospital Shillong at 7:40 pm, Desplin Marbaniang (55) of Lad Mawreng, Mawphlang East Khasi Hills was admitted to Dr. H Gordon Roberts Hospital on April 30 and he expired on May 7 at 7:40 am, Kleeon Thabah (60) of Sohiong, East Khasi Hills was admitted to Bethany Hospital on May 6 and he expired on May 7 at 6:30 am and Tony Singha (37) of Lumjingshai, East KHasi Hills was brought dead on May 7 at 3:30 am to Civil Hospital Shillong.
The state also recorded 297 fresh cases with 180 recorded from East Khasi Hills district, Ri-Bhoi district 58, West Garo Hills district 22, West Jaintia Hills district 10, South West Garo Hills district nine, West Khasi Hills district five, East Garo Hills district and North Garo Hills district four each, East Jaintia Hills district three and South West Khasi Hills district one.
Of the 2466 active cases East KHasi Hills is the most affected with 1,492, Ri-Bhoi 287, West Garo Hills district 187, West Jaintia Hills district 106, West Khasi Hills district 105, East Jaintia Hills district 104, South Garo Hills district 48, East Garo Hills 44, South West Garo Hills district 42, North Garo Hills district 27 and South West Khasi Hills has 24 active positive cases.
The state also recorded 176 new cases taking the total number to 16262.
The state till date has vaccinated 1, 89, 391 of its citizens till Friday.
The total persons tested till date for the virus is 4,80,778 out of which 4,61,851 tested negative and 18927 are confirmed cases.
