SHILLONG, May 14: The North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) has received flak for deciding to hold interview in Guwahati for posts based in Tura.
It may be mentioned that the administration of NEHU had through a circular on May 11 called for a walk-in interviews for three posts to be held on June 2 at their guest house in Borjhar, Guwahati.
The posts are contractual in nature with the pay being rather low – one being a residential doctor (Rs 40,000), staff nurse (Rs 12,000) and a system analyst (Rs 20,000). The post is based on six months contract.
Meanwhile, the Achik Youth Council (AYC) has lambasted NEHU for what it considered to be discrimination against locals pointing to the fact that the salaries were too low to evince outside interest and since the post was based in Tura, the interviews should also have been based in the state itself.
