NEIGRIHMS patient tested negative for COVID-19

SHILLONG, Mar 11: The state Health and Family Welfare department on Wednesday said that tests on one person admitted at North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) for suspected coronavirus came back negative.

“Received information from the medical authorities of NEIGRIHMS that the suspected case of COVID-19 has been tested and found negative,” the department said.

Authorities had said that as a precaution the patient was admitted to the isolation ward in NEIGRIHMS. The person had a travel history to New Delhi.

His sample was tested at the National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Diseases, Kolkata.
