Shillong, Feb 14: The Confederation of Meghalaya Social Organisations (CoMSO) greeted with slogans demanding the implementation of Inner Line Permit Inner (ILP) in the state when Union Home Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal arrived in Shillong on Friday.
The CoMSO staged a protest at North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) campus, where Pokhriyal, inaugurated an Incubation Centre at the university.
Later, the members of COMSO also followed him when he visited the National Institute of Technology (NIT) campus at Bijni Complex in Laitumkhrah.
At Laitumkhrah, outside the complex of the Health department, the pro ILP organisation shouted slogans “No ILP No Rest”.
However, the presence of police personnel prevented the members of the CoMSO from moving towards the venue of the programme.
During the protest, the police also snatched the placards from the members reading that the centre should implement ILP in Meghalaya.
