Shillong, Oct 15: An 80-year-old woman from Shillong has successfully recovered from COVID-19 and was discharged from Bethany Hospital earlier today.
Bethany Hospital Spokesperson Dr. Kyntiewlang Sanmiet informed that the patient was admitted to the hospital on October 5th, with complaints of fever, cough, breathing difficulty, body ache, sore throat, and vomiting, and abdomen pain.
“On evaluation, she was having respiratory distress, low oxygen saturation and tested positive for COVID-19. Her HRCT Thorax showed Covid pneumonia features. She also has co-morbidities of diabetes and hypertension,” a statement from the hospital read.
The patient received high flow oxygen support for the first 7 days, Dr. Kyntiewlang informed, adding that the patient tested negative for Covid-19 on the 10th day.
