Shillong, May 6: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, on Wednesday, informed that 955 persons who were stranded in various north eastern states have arrived in the state since yesterday to 6 pm today.
According to the data shared by the Chief Minister, 557 individuals entered through Byrnihat in Ri Bhoi district. 277 persons entered through Bajengdoba in North Garo Hills, 76 from Ratacherra in East Jaintia Hills and 45 from Tikrikilla.
They will be under quarantine for 14 days, during which the government will bear ration for all the residents.
The Meghalaya Government is bringing back its residents in phases. In the first phase, all citizens stranded in other parts of north east will be brought back home.
Over 2000 persons stranded in these states have registered themselves with the government, the Chief Minister informed on Monday.
