Shillong, Sept 4: The Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) has seized Heroin weighing over a kilo and worth crores of Rupees from Shillong and Guwahati.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, Superintendent of Police, Claudia Lyngwa said the East Khasi hills ANTF team led by ANTF in-charge, Jaspal Singh Dhanoa was successful in the operation with the assistance of Assam police.
According to SP, the raid was conducted based on information that 40 soap boxes containing Heroin was brought to Shillong f on Guwahati by a drug dealer, Alberto Raphlang.
Following the arrest of Raplang , the ANTF team raided a house in Beltola on September 2 together with a sub-inspector from Assam police.
Jaspal said, from Beltola his team found 10 soap boxes containing Heroin hidden inside an Inverter from the residence of one Abhi Das.
“He is one of the main suppliers of drugs in Guwahati,” Jaspal said.
On the lead provided by Das, we could nabbed another drug supplier from Manipur identified as Sashi from Guwahati, he added.
Jaspal said, the duo later informed that 70 soap boxes containing Heroin was brought to Guwahati for supply to Shillong and Guwahati.
Jaspal further said that out of the 70 soap boxes, 40 were sold in Shillong, 20 in Barpeta district in Assam and 10 were found in Abhi Das’ house.
On further enquiry, it was found that another three other drug suppliers from Nagaland has also come to Guwahati and they have supplied drugs to sellers.
On the lead they received, the ANTF team conducted raids in Guwahati and was able to arrest a woman drug supplier named Gracy from a lodge.
On the raid, the police were able to recover 690 grams of heroin packed in 54 soap boxes.
Finally, after reaching Shillong yesterday, the ANTF team conducted raids in five different houses from Laitkor and seize 24 soap boxes containing the heroin.
