Shillong, June 10: A pregnant woman who recently returned from Delhi tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.
The pregnant woman is admitted at North East Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) hospital.
While her husband who had also come with her from Delhi had earlier tested positive for the virus and is now under treatment at Shillong Civil hospital.
According to State Health and Family Welfare Minister said, “Both the husband and the wife are stable and under treatment.”
Hek also informed that 11812 samples have been sent till date, out of which 11455 tests came out negative and report of the test results awaited are 313.
Out of the 44 positive cases, one person died, 13 recovered and 30 cases are active.
The district wise active cases are Shillong (East Khasi Hills) 14, Jowai (West Jaintia Hills) 5, Tura (West Garo Hills) 5, Ampati (South West Garo Hills) 5 and Resubelpara (North Garo Hills) 1.
The Health Minister also said that 14, 453 stranded residents came back into Meghalaya till Wednesday afternoon.
