Shillong, May 9: Following report of another positive COVID-19 case in the state, the family of later Dr John Sailo Ryntathiang informed that the case is not related to their family.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, earlier tweeted, “Unfortunately we have another positive case in Shillong. It’s a person working in the same house. As a precaution health department was retesting all the primary contacts and in the process we found this positive case. The person is safe and healthy and showing no symptoms.”
The tweet had led to the assumption that the case was from the same household as the index patient.
In response, the late Dr Sailo’s son clarified that the case was not from the same house
“There was no contact between the latest case and any of the members of (L) Dr. J. L. Sailo Ryntathiang family since 15th April, 2020. Therefore, the contacts whom she has been exposed to from 15th April onwards cannot be accounted for,” he stated.
Dr Sailo was diagnosed with Coronavirus on April 13 and passed away two days later.
