SHILLONG, Jan 22: After a gap of two days, rescuers on Tuesday again started to retrieve the body of a miner from the illegal rat-hole mine.
According to spokesperson of the rescue operation R Susngi, the Indian Navy divers in collaboration with NDRF started the process to retrieve the remains by the ROV from 11 am and till filing this report the remain has been pulled near the main shaft.
“However due to some obstruction the process will take some more time to bring it to the top,” Susngi informed.
Meanwhile, the Odisha Fire Service operated their pump for six hours on Tuesday from 11 am to 5pm and the total discharged of water was 5, 40, 000 litres.
The Coal India Limited pump out the water from two old shafts from Monday evening till Tuesday 5 pm for a total of 31 hours and the total discharged of water was 35, 15, 400 litres.
Also the PUne based KSB Company operated their pump from 8:30 pm in the evening on Monday till 5 pm on Tuesday and after pumping time of 20 hours the total discharge of water is approximately 39, 60, 000 litres.
