Shillong, Mar 31: As a “goodwill” measure and recognition of services Ex-Gratia of Rs 5 lakhs have been announced for IndianOil personnel in case of their demise due to COVID-19.
IndianOil personnel including LPG Showroom staff, go-down keepers, mechanics, delivery boys, customer attendants and truck drivers will be recipient of ex-gratia amount for risking their lives to ensure delivery of fuel.
The amount will be paid to the spouse of the personnel or next of kin.
Meanwhile, the government of India has also announced free refills for all Ujjwala Yojana consumers for the next three month, from April 1st, 2020 to June 30th 2020.
8 crore PMUY beneficiaries will avail free 14.2 kg LPG cylinders. For this purpose, it has been announced that the government will transfer full RSP of the refill cost for the month of April to the beneficiaries’ bank account.
A PMUY customer is entitled to one cylinder per month and can book their refill only after 15 days of receipt of the last refill.
The centre also revealed that LPG distributions are functioning normally under the advisory of the state governments and local administration. The corporation’s LPG distribution is reportedly stocked for the period of the lockdown and customers have been advised not to hoard or panic-buy.
Customers have also been encouraged to make digital payments whenever possible to avoid unnecessary handling of currency notes in view of COVID-19.
