Shillong, Mar 20: The state on Saturday recorded another COVID-19 death taking the number of fatalities to 149, health authorities informed.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War said that the deceased a male, Debaris Lyngdoh (38) was from Umktieh, Umroi, Ri Bhoi district.
He was admitted to Woodland Hospital on March 18 and tested positive and expired on Saturday at 405 am. He was diagnosed with severe Covid – 19 pneumonia with severe sepsis.
Dr. War also informed that on Saturday, the state recorded four new cases and six recovered from the virus.
All the four new cases and the six recoveries were recorded from East Khasi Hills.
The total number of active cases is 28 and the total recovered cases have gone upto 13, 835.
East Khasi Hills district has 20 active cases, Ri-Bhoi seven and West Garo Hills one.
The Director of Health Services informed that the total persons tested till date is 3, 90, 640 out of which 3, 76, 628 tested negative and 14, 012 are confirmed cases.
The number of tests conducted on March 20 is approximately 900.
Dr. War also informed that the vaccination achievement for health care workers for the first dose is 20,805 and for the second dose its 12, 297.
Meanwhile, vaccination achievement for frontline workers till March for the first dose is 29, 563 and for the second dose its 6880.
Dr. War also informed that vaccination achievement for the general public based on the eligible age group till March 19 is 16,443 (first dose).
