Strongly condemn those inciting communal violence: UDP

Shillong, Oct 30: The United Democratic Party today strongly condemned ‘elements’ trying to incite communal violence through social media and other platforms.

UDP President Metbah Lyngdoh said that they have urged the government to conduct an enquiry against those alleging that there is communal disharmony in the state.

Party’s General Secretary Jemino Mawthoh stated that all communities in the state have always co-existed peacefully.

“For so long the people of Meghalaya have been living in peaceful co-existence with other communities as well so to paint a picture like that outside communities are being discriminated – that is very wrong and these types of elements should be nipped in the bud and the government has to take a serious call on this,” Mawthoh said.
