SHILLONG, Sep 1: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has urged the Central Armed Police Force (CRPF) to widely publicise recruitment into the forces so that people from the region in general and Meghalaya in particular can take part.
This was stressed Prabhat Singh the Special, Director General (DG), CRPF of the northeast zone, Guwahati.
The Special DG said that wide publicity of CAPF recruitment in the region specially in Meghalaya should be made through local bodies like Khasi Student Union (KSU) so that eligible candidates from Khasi, Garo and Janitia tribes will appear in the recruitments rally and get opportunity to be recruited in para-military forces like CRPF, Sashastra Seema Bal, Indo-Tibetan Border Police and Border Security Force.
The Special DG further asked the CRPF local commanders to maintain close co-ordination with state police and Intelligence agencies.
The CRPF also stated that the top official while reviewing the security arrangements with local CRPF officers during the visit, also discussed about troops deployment in the recently concluded by-election in Meghalaya and NRC duty in Assam, and civic Action programme to be carry out by CRPF in the north east region.
Meanwhile, the Special DG also discussed operational related matters with Prakash D IG, North Eastern Sector and other senior officials of the sector.
